Email notifications

I am an ASP programmer and have almost no knowledge of PHP.

I designed a website in ASP where it system has to send email notifications just one day before membership expires.

I have hosting on Windows platform with PHP 5.x support. Is there any way I can setup auto email notfications using PHP??
