Hi, I’m not sure if this is the right area or not to ask but I had a question about email marketing. What would be the best solution for sending out emails to people who you asked (for instance clients stored in your database), perhaps like a newsletter or a custom email offering a discount on your site or something. Is there a way that you could do it yourself without using any other 3rd party program or could your hosting company have something set up for that? I guess I’m just trying to better understand it so I would know where to start and stuff like that, but thanks for any help i really appreciate it.
This is not a question of software. It’s a question of knowing what to do with it – and far more who have the software don’t.
Marketing isn’t about software alone. Copywriting drives the results, that’s the weak point.
For a mid-to-large tier campaign look at Exact Target (my favorite), SilverPop, or EmailLabs. All off more advanced features, list management, dedicated IPs and other tools for campaigns with fairly significant volume.

There’s lots that can go into email. For a more basic campaign with list management, rich format emails and open/ click rate analytics try Vertical Response, Constant Contact or Awber. If you’re looking for something more enterprise for larger volume campaigns let me know and I can suggest a few other vendors.
Hi, I’m not sure if your hosting company can do it. But for me, it’s still the best to use Aweber.
