Ecwid, foxycart, e-junkie.. other seamless carts?

I just discovered these types of seamless integration carts like ecwid, foxycart and e-junkie. Are there others of this type that I haven’t found yet? What sort of keywords should I use to find these carts?

Depends on how you look at it. I like the look of FastSpring, because is seems (as far as I can tell) that it’s easy to add their code to your site, and they collect your money and can send it straight to your bank account. That’s a biggie for me, since with most other services you either have to have about three expensive levels of provider (cart, gateway and merchant) or you have to rely on PayPal (which is like firing a gun at your head and hoping there are no bullets in it  ).

I’m already set up with a great merchant provider and gateway, don’t need anyone else collecting money or charging ridiculous processing fees. What I have there is good so fastspring is out.

I checked all the ones you mentioned and so far ecwid seems to be the best so far…

I just looked at foxycart and from what I’ve seen so far, it looks to be the most confusing thing I’ve ever seen. How this page
http://wiki.foxycart.com/v/0.6.0/getting_started:adding_links_and_forms
is supposed to help me understand how to make products is beyond me. I hate and despise code so I’m pretty sure foxycart isn’t for me or anyone else who doesn’t do code.

You could search for something like “hosted ecommerce”. There are lots and lots. Some others I’d add to the list are Shopify, BigCartel, FastSpring and Mal’s Ecommerce. Only one I’ve used so far is FoxyCart, and it’s great.

e-junkie is out. They have some good features but one very basic one is missing, ZONES! They give you no way to create shipping zones! In addition they don’t have support for realtime FedEx rates. Fedex divides the world up into around 14 zones. But e-junkie’s shipping rule would have you define a rule for every single country (there’s close to 200 countries in the world!) Is there any cart out there that actually thinks before they produce something?

I saw fatfreecart when I was looking at e-junkie, but it’s too simplistic. Taking a second look at foxycart, but I really like ecwid; it just needs some more key features… Haven’t found anything close to ecwid though…

There’s also a JavaScript thing called FatFreeCart.

I had my own cart up until July 2010 then I went hosted. I wanted a simple solution under $20 (or free). I compared FoxyCart and Ecwid and decided to go with Ecwid over Foxy because I was already familiar with Qualiteam products (X-Cart) and the cart tracks INVENTORY which for the moment Foxy has decided not to. What sucks about Ecwid is that you have to pay the monthly subscription fee to access gift certs, otherwise its a free cart. It was also very easy to install (copy and paste). I’m happy so far.

Thanks, I’ve decided to go with ecwid too. I’ve even paid them a development fee to add a feature that I need before I can switch. In return, they are providing that feature within a month’s time AND they’re giving me a year of the silver plan at no charge. So far, the support on the forum has been stellar. All questions answered within at most 24 hours. The company is top notch and I am looking forward to using their creation soon!! Simple Simple Simple!

Yeah, they’re good folks. Whether using x-cart or Ecwid I haven’t had any major complaints. Have fun with your new shop

Thanks, so far so good!
