E-Commerce solution with picture importing

Hello,

I am getting ready to do my first e-commerce website and I am looking for a platform.

This will be a site with thousands of products and there are a few features that are a must.

  • I would like to be able to import pictures with the products, not have to do this separately

  • The owner would like the customers to be able to download a pdf of product specifications from the product page.

I don’t have a lot of experience with e-commerce sites so a user friendly platform is what I’m looking for.

I am very overwhelmed with all of the options out there.

I would love any suggestions that would meet these needs.

You try Joomla(open source) to build your website, it has many features.

Infomaxim can:-

  1. bulk import all images based on either the image name, a column in a spreadsheet or database you import referring to the image, or the image being a derivative of the ID.
  2. further images at all the different sizes you need are auto-created when products are published by resizing/cropping the original image
  3. generate PDFs on the fly from content managed information using an HTML template you design; this eliminates the need to upload PDFs for every product and means you can manage all product info in one place

Hey Mindy,

The research you’re about to do, I did as well a few years back. I came across some really cool open source ecommerce software such as Magento and oscommerce. I realized that there was just too many problems with such software.

I then moved over to BigCommerce. There is a monthly fee for it, but I can honestly say that it’s a breeze to use. You’ll be up and selling in no time at all.

I’d recommend checking out Shopify as well. They too have an awesome platform.
