Hi,
I have just ftp’d two modules over to the modules folder of my drupal site, however when i log in to the site and view the modules list they do not appear, therefore i cannot install them.
I have tried clearing the cache, refreshing and clearing the cache on the performance page.
Ive never had a problem like this before and couldnt find any info about it anywhere…
Any suggestions??
The modules im trying to install are ‘location’ and ‘gmaps’

I think the best option is to recheck the folder location in your server.
Till now I have never come accross this type of issue before.
Yeah its really driving me nuts!
They are in the modules folder with all my other modules, I thought it might have been something to do with my hosting provider as i had the site running on an internal server fine, then i transferred it over to the web and added the modules in question AFTER that.
I have been in contact with them and they were working on changing permissions on the folders (which actually helped with another problem which was drupal kept saying my sites/default/files folder was locked so i couldnt use filefield even though i had gone in and changed the permissions.) Anyway, they cant help me any further which is very frustrating.
I think i might just pull down the whole site and re-upload to see if that makes a difference cos all my other modules in the modules folder are working fine, its just the ones ive added later that arent.
Any ideas would be GREATLY appreciated!!
I think the other option (not a good one)
just setup your site locally pull everything online data too and set it up locally.
then upload every thing including the database I think this can solve your issue.
Normally I do the same process to setup the site initially
