Does this navigation work?

We’re revamping our navigation, but I have some concerns about our current prototype. Folks want to have two clicks to get to what they are looking for. Thoughts?

Why? That’s counter-intuitive.

It works, but … with all that wide space, you can easily divide it up into thirds and put the left menu at top as headings for the link below, saving a click. Of course, this only works on desktop. It isn’t responsive, so it won’t work with half of your visitors who arrive on their phones.

What does it look like on small devices, ie phones?

I doubt anyone would ever get that far, due to the ridiculous time it takes to load a page that doesn’t really do very much.
A test on GTmetrix came out at just under 30 seconds, loading in my browser, I don;t know, but it felt a lot longer than that to be fully loaded.
It weighs in at just under 18MB, that’s just one page, with quite sparse content.

And from a UI point of view, just try navigating it using a keyboard. You will find the answer is no, it does not work.
