Does RedirectPermanent absorb page rank?

Hi All,

Quick question. I’m trying to redirect the splash page for one of my sites to the e-commerce main index page. I’m using the following:

RedirectMatch permanent ^/index.html$ http://boat-clocks.com/catalog/index.php

Will boat-clocks.com/catalog/index.php absorb any page rank of boat-clocks.com? (Yes, I realize there is none right now :-))
