your boss or manager that you’re worthy of a raise or promotion?
What should I say to convince him or her if I’m working for a company that either specializes in web or application development or has its own information systems department?
I have taken a few jobs as a web assistant, but as of yet I haven’t reached the “Junior Web Developer” or “Web Administrator” position. I’ve been on time and I follow through with tasks.
Also, what do web managers look for when determining who gets a raise? If I’m great to work with, always punctual, and I’m always helping out my co-workers, then how will web managers rate my work?
I think being punctual, easy to work with and helpful to your co-workers is expected of most employees these days and I don’t think I’d necessarily expect a raise for doing your job as expected.
What can you do to really set yourself apart from your “competition” there in the office…to make yourself more valuable to the company?
I’ve not worked as a designer for someone else before so I can’t say what your manager might be looking for to consider giving you a raise, but I don’t see any harm in asking your boss “What do you look for when considering giving a promotion to someone?”
