Different permissions for a folder and its contents

I’m using the TinyMCE Filemanager, a file managing application, through which I can prevent the user from copying BOTH a folder and its contents. However, with that application it’s all or nothing in terms of copying a folder/it’s contents. What I’d like to do is give the user permission to copy the contents, but not the actual folder. So if I have:

I’d like to give the user permission to copy each of the individuals files, (file1 and file2) but not MY FOLDER. Might this be possible with PHP to delineate the permissions this way?

Thank you,

Of course, why not? You can write a function that sets the appropriate permissions to the parent folder and then makes a recursive action through all of it’s inner files and directories and sets the permissions appropriately.

OK! Thank you…
