Quick question - concerning dial up - someone told me that everytime you connect to a site - it will show up as a different IP address on the webmaster’s log. Just wondering if this is true…

Generally, yes. When you connect with your modem, you are assigned an IP address from a pool reserved for your region. You lose that IP address when you disconnect the connection.

thats doesnt sound right to me. Dial-up rules!!

Some dial-up connections are dynamic (as in they are assigned a fairly random IP depending on the number of IP’s the ISP is allocated), however all of those IP’s can be traced back to the country and provider anyway, so it doesn’t make a difference to how you browse the web.
