My site breaks for people who visit it and their browser is zoomed higher than 100%. Is there a cross-platform, cross-browser piece of javascript that will detect if they are zoomed in?

There is, but I recommend that you instead improve the design of your site.
Many people zoom their browser due to poor eyesight. Here’s some info on calculating zoom. It’s not easy or robust.
