CSS inline list problem

I’ve got a really annoying problem, I’ve got a floated list (so all list items display in a line) but if there’s a link in the list it won’t display on the same line in Chrome and Safari (Firefox is fine). The strange thing is that I’ve created an AJAX layer to take over the navigation, and if I call in the content using that it displays perfectly.

Any idea what’s going wrong?

Cheers,

Jon

Hi,
We would need to see your code to give a solution.

Either post your code (css/html) or post a link to the page.

but if there’s a link in the list it won’t display on the same line in Chrome and Safari (Firefox is fine).

Hard to say what is going on until we see how you styled your anchors

Can’t replicate the problem. Can you give an example?

Just fixed it, I’m using quite a lot of javascript on this page (although it will function without it) and I was using javascript to get the width of each list item and use that to make some calculations to make a scroll controller and set the width of the whole list. It looks like Chrome and Safari made those calculations before the images (which were contained within the links, and I thought they were causing the problem) were loaded so it was giving the list the wrong width. I resolved this by executing the script after the images load.

Cheers,

Jon
