Creating a Google My Business for an ecommerce website

Hi guys

We sell sun tan lotion online. Is Google My Business suitable for an online shop? I cant find any categories that are suitable when I sign up to Google My Business.

Perhaps GMB isnt suitable for an ecommerce website? On the website it has our telephone number, so people can phone if they want to order. We also has a physical location and sell worldwide. Not sure how to set the ‘Service Areas’ to worldwide though.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Eligible businesses

In order to qualify for a Google My Business listing, a business must make in-person contact with customers during its stated hours.

If you are selling directly from your physical location (i.e. it is a shop serving the local community) then you can list that, but the point of Google My Business is to list local businesses, not to provide another form of advertising for online stores.

Ah ok. Thanks for confirming that.

Hii There,

You can List your E Commerce website in Google My business and Add your Contact number and your product photos. and set the option (call now) here on GMB then customer directly contact to you and i think GMB listing is very good for your business apart from that i advice you that you can use Facebook for your business also.

Thanks

But - as already stated - only if you also have an actual, physical store to go with it. From the same link as above:

Summary: Listings on Google My Business can only be created for businesses that either have a physical location that customers can visit, or that travel to visit customers where they are.
