Creating a Community

I am not starting a discussion on the topic, I was more interested to see if anyone shared that level of interest.

This thing is far beyond my technical ability. My belief is that
somewhere, maybe even within this community(I am sure) and that cares
enough will want to help create it.

Let me outline what is being created and then I can start even asking the questions about the questions I’ll be asking.

Visually its a basic system, basically three tiers.

Map
Personal/group/community Profile
Projects

Specifically for development; So this is a tricky one, not even sure
what questions to ask. So the platform, like wikipedia is very minimal,
safe accessible/easy to use and visually appealing, but the conent
within is really the hard part

Each individual or entity accessing the information also has the
ability, along some more simple editing functions, be able to securely
and with rigid “language to data point” contribution, programs,
schedules, tutorials, among many other things. In simpler terms. The
functions of an activity of work, recreation, etc tied into our rich
network of algorithm based data through previous entered information(and
lots of bootwork) to show available opportunities to(put very simply)
work, play, eat, sleep.

blockchains? angel donors with large systems? The idea being that we
would be able to build anything, along with richer communities and
networks and all because we want to rather than a really inefficient
system like trading and hoarding money. So really the first steps are
who wants to start donating server time and work on making things
stable.

Anyone who has worked on social media or business logistics should be
able to build a fairly suitable structure from what we already have.
It’s getting an initial community interested in starting something
altruistically.

Mmm.

So basically.

What question should I be asking?

I’m trying to make this sound as ‘over some coffee’ as possible, but FYI this is an order of magnitude larger than google and facebook combined… and then throw in medical and university class research availability and computation effort on top.

Using large data sets to help anyone. Thus everyone. Not caveman intellectual property level of thinking.

So if you’re NOT interested, you’re probably not seeing the right part.

Putting together such a community with the goal of addressing the worlds problems is indeed a most noble thought.

It isn’t like there is a shortage of problems, that’s for sure.

With the abundance of available data it would seem that at least something could and should be done.

Unfortunately there are problems with solving the problems, “base human traits” not being the least of them, I think the greater is the complexity.

For example, if we know the minimum amount of water a human needs to survive and we know the amount of potable water on the planet, we could map out the locations of the resource and population centers and devise ways to distribute the resource.

But it isn’t that simple. Water is used for many other things. One being the growing of crops.
So we work the amount of the worlds arable land into the mix, determine the minimum nutritional needs for survival and devise ways to distribute the crops.

But not all crops are for direct human consumption. One use being livestock feed.
Whether or not meat is considered to be a “need” is debatable, But we work that into the mix too.

Anyway you see where I’m going with this.

I think that complexity is the main reason most approaches to solving problems are limited to a particular problem and smaller geographical area. And even then, any particular problem or geographical area does not exist in isolation.

I was stuck in that mentality a few years ago also…

instead of fixing any problems or allocating resources.

We
are showing what is possible. With what’s available. And then how it’s
been done. Mix in a very simple task division of project time… (and
then all those nice little things like water availability etc.)

Voila. The beginning.

Want to work on something? Live near Seattle?

Seems a bit like, 'oh duh, that should work, but how would I find enough support?" Something like that?

Just build the platform and let our very skilled world fill it in.

Raise your hand if you’re scared to start something real.

If you want something specific to work on, I have plenty. Lots to build and do. I have the key to the data language. I need help to get it virtual.

I know there is support everywhere.

I have only now started to reach out.

I’m not saying I have a new idea. I see the next steps.

Now it’s up to everyone else.
