Popups are not good at all. First of all its annoying, might scare users away from your site.
Second, most new browsers got inbuilt blocking. Meaning you will not get enough impressions to accually make any good money.
Layered ADs might be much better as its pretty much unblockable. But not any good providers of them yet.

Looks like you don’t have much experience in pop under network, not necessarily pop may annoy visitor, it all depends how well the code is done, since I myself earn good from pop network I never seen any decrease in my traffic due to that, and opens ad only once in 24 hour period, which does not annoy my visitor at all, this is the best way I find to earn money from my visitor, I really love it.

Yes, you are correct. Most browser block pop-ups. I am really boring to enter pop-up sites, because I feel that they have adware and virusus.
Maybe you should share some experiences on how to do this, more and more browsers getting block pop-ups.
