Plesk / Cpanel control panels are offered by hostingsource.com on their dedicated server plans, which one would you choose?
And why?

If you prefer a 'Nix server, that’s what cPanel is designed for. I believe Plesk favors IIS (but used it ages ago on a 'nix server, if I remember correctly). I prefer cPanel enough that I look for that when I’m shopping for a new host.

I will choose Cpanel control panel. Because :

  2. It is equally advantageous to the starting site manager and the experienced web designer, the busy ecommerce site and the personal blog.
  3. It’s Proven security and stability.
  4. It’s Simple site management system.
  5. It is affordable.

I’ve read hostingsource plans and they provide plesk with windows and cPanel with Linux hosting, so the choice is already done

I recommend use traditional control panel which Cpanel is. That will allow you to move easielly from provider to provider. A lot jf tutorials can be found as well for that.

It is cPanel! And also make sure that most web hosting providers offer cPanel and Plesk, not just the one you mentioned. i’m saying this because your thread looks a little bit promotional.

But soon discovered it was the best control program i’ve seen.

CPanel is obviously the industry standard you should choose. It is what every professional aspires to and is a much better platform that Plesk for sure. I can’t picture using any Linux platform without CPanel actually. It just wouldn’t feel right.

That and the fact that there are constant updates to patch any security leaks if there are any at all. Also CPanel has Fantastico which is great. There are so many PHP scripts to choose from and they are updated often for security.

It is just overall good support for a good product.

I believe they new feature Softaculous works much better then Fantastico.
In any way I believe that is the reason why people chose that also Cpanel to Cpanel movements are very easy.

If you have the option, I would definitely recommend using Softaculous over Fantastico. Fantastico is just too slow to issue updates for scripts, and they’re often behind the times in supporting new scripts.

I would recommend using cPanel with Softaculous. It is a great replacement for Fantastico, easy to use and more features included :slight_smile:
