Common/typical spacing between sections

Hi there,

I am wondering what a good amount of space is for between sections of a page. I know this is down to preference, but wondering if there is a rule of thumb?

I usually use 120px between each section or sometimes around 6-8%, but am now thinking this is not enough. I was thinking of increasing this to 180px.

Is there a general rule for such spacing, or would it really depend on the design?

It all depends on the design. Ideally you should use ems or rems rather than px.

Yeah it all depends upon the design you’re working on. A good space always helps to make your design and website sections looks cooler.

To me it’s also the personal choice I usually use 40-50px spacing between sections if it’s not a requirement from the design
