I am starting small web portal based on Joomla, I dont have enoguh knowledge to create template for my site so I decided to buy commerical one from joomlart
genrelly what is your opinion about using template that is not unique on internet?
Well it really depends on what are using this Web site for? what’s your goal? what kind of audience you are targeting etc…
Anyway I think that you should personalize any template you buy by adding your logo, tweaking and changing the colors/graphics/CSS…
May be you can give some other details about the context?
Web site will be for engineering community, my goal is to create portal that will be useful for some kind of engineers…there will be news from some specific engineering field, stuff that’s useful for that engineers and so on
My plan was to buy template and then put on it my own logo, then simply modify graphic and colours.
I think that should be OK

I don’t see a problem in using a template that other people might use. Other users are likely to make certain changes and once you’ve got your own content on there it won’t look identical anyway.
It is 100% normal to have a template which is not unique. Anyway, you can customize templates if you want.
Well thanks for the info. I would think that if they provide the music to put on their dvd that there should not be a problem. I guess I will have to investigate more. It not like we are making money off their music. I dont know. Maybe someone will give us some more info. If I find some I will post it
