.co Domain Help

I would guess that there is already a post for this topic. BUT I am looking for a recent opinion.

Does anyone have any information about how .co domains are doing with search engines and just overall standpoint. I have had fairly good success so far.

My reason for asking is I am interested in getting a new pretty good .co domain name that I can see being profitable IF they continue to get indexed and such.

I know this website is filled with knowledgeable members so throw any information you know or have heard at me.

I would really appreciate it, Thanks guys!

Apparently, Google thinks of them as “international” domains:

Google approves .co domain for international use | News | PC Pro

So, they should be reasonably usable. Still, I imagine there’s lots of people typing .com instead of .co, so it’s really preferable to get the .com versions.

I really don’t think that your .co or .com domain name have a major impact on your SERPS. If you have a good site with lots of backlinks then google doesn’t care if your site is a .com or a .info.

In my opinion the advantage of a .co is that it’s a lot easier now to pick up a good name as a .co over a .com.

Ps Did you see the latest overstocked.com ad where they are plugging there new o.co address?

Correction.

Google doesn’t care if site have backlinks or not as long it’s good site with any TLD it may have.
