Class (as for span) in js in HEAD---plese, do U have any examples how to define it?

Hello!
We have to imput 2 numbers, suing windows.prompt() . If the nr is positive, should ne blue, else red.

We have to doit by DFINIING CLASSES IN HEAD!!!
Please, does anyone has any SIMPLE example?
