Choosing another domain name

I need another domain name as I want to have a second blog which has a different theme from my current one.

I am currently ranking well for keyphrases A and B but lagging behind with C and D.

Looking at a traffic estimator for keyphrases A,B,C,D I find that A and B has decent traffic but C and D don’t even get a listing because they are rare.

If my site already rates well for A and B would it be better to have a domain name which includes the keyphrases C and D even although they are rarely searched for?

If the C and D make a lot of sense for your business, you could have a separate blog to get the traffic and funnel it to your main site. Otherwise, IMHO, a very long domain name is not a very good idea. Most people will not link using the keywords anyway, and their presence in the domain name only goes so far.

idcdc has a point, don’t force the domain to the point where you are just making it too long. It is not worth the money.

If you have the right set of domains already, just keep them until you can think of better ones.
