Choosing a monitor screen size

What is the best screen size of monitor to buy, 17 inches or 16 inches?

What screen size of monitor are you using?

It depends on your use I suppose but on my PC I use a 22" so I can use a 1920px resolution in comfort and on my imac is a 27" screen (2560 resolution) which is great also.

In the end the bigger the better in my opinion if you are doing work on them rather than just browsing (or multiple screens if you can afford it).

I use 2, 24" 16:10 monitors which give me a 1920x1200 resolution and one 32" monitor. I’d love to have several 30" 4K monitors though

I suppose it comes down to how large your desk/office space is and how much you want to be able to see simultaneously on the monitor. My guess is your thinking in terms of laptop screen size if your asking about 16 or 17 inch screen sizes correct? Being mobile while maximizing screen real estate is a challenge; the great the mobility generally speaking the smaller that screen will be. Of course you can always use an external monitor with a laptop.

I haven’t seen any shops offering less than 53cm for screens sizes around here in recent years.

The Australian Government removed the legal definition of the size of an inch several years ago so someone could offer to sell you a three hundred inch screen and then deliver one that fits in your hand and if they hadn’t also specified a size in centimetres you’d have legal no basis for claiming it wasn’t what you ordered.

My main client provides everyone with two screens as a single 58cm screen is considered to be way too small. A student in one of my classes used over a dozen screens that size on a single computer.
