Charging subscribers for email newsletter

I have a client who is setting up a site that offers several email newsletters depending on your interests. He is looking to charge for those newsletters as a monthly subscription fee. The pricing he is proposing is below (there are 8 total topics of interest for his email newsletters):

$1.99 for the initial category
$ .99 each additional category
$4.25 unlimited choice option

I found in MailChimp that you can charge for a subscription. But it is just a one flat fee type of deal that won’t work with the variables above.

Any ideas on another mailing list provider that allows for paid subscriptions that has a bit more robust pricing options? Any help would be greatly appreciates.

I don’t about any specific service which offer this feature but I’ve a solution which should help.

  1. Create membership website using WordPress or other CMS
  2. Define multiple user levels and assign contents to them
  3. Segment your subscriber list according to their membership level and send them links to their content using any mailing software.
