Change theme name

Hi,
I made a new theme named “abc”. At the top of the editing pages it shows the name of the theme is “abc”. When I look at the HTML the theme name show up as “BLANK_theme”.
How do I change the name from “BLANK_theme” to “abc”?
thank you.

Check the theme name at the top of the style.css file. That’s where the theme get’s it’s name from.

Hi
I am in the edit themes page. I see three choices, mine, 2010 and 2011. I don’t see BLANK_theme as a choice.
When I am at the Manage Themes page I see the small graphic of “BLANK THEME” as the current theme. It has my theme’s name beside it, actually my theme name with “1” beside it.
Am I looking in the wrong place?
thanks

As I stated, theme names can only be changed on the stylesheet. To see your stylesheet and edit it, go to Appearance > Editor. The stylesheet will open in the editor window by default.

If the theme uses an options page, changing the name could cause problems. I recommend local testing prior to hosting.

Hi,

I’ve taken a look at the stylesheet page as described below:

As I stated, theme names can only be changed on the stylesheet. To see your stylesheet and edit it, go to Appearance > Editor. The stylesheet will open in the editor window by default.

in the stylesheet theme name and description, I see “abc”.
In the dropdown in the upper right corner I see only the three options: abc, 2010 and 2011. There is no “BLANK_theme”.

What am I missing? or (still) looking in the wrong spot?
thanks.

Hello Friend, Actually where are you looking for your theme. I think you are looking in somewhere else. Please go to > appearance > Themes. There you can see available wordpress theme that you already installed.

Thank you for getting back to me.
got it.
Thanks again.
Cheers
