How do you guys change the flashing cursor when text area is focused ?
Ahh… For the height if you increase the font size the cursor’s height will also be set accordingly. I am not sure you can change the thickness of the cursor from code or css. But for the thickness of the cursor I think there is an option in Windows Control Panel.
Google docs does not use a textarea. They use a full-blown graphical rich document editing system they’ve spent years and millions of dollars developing.
If you want a different cursor in a textarea, I’m not sure you’ll be able to change it so easily - it’s governed by the OS.
Try steal from google and edit it then! But that is also just the simple cursor and you cannot simply modify the cursors as far as I know. Lets hope if anyone here can share experience.
Thank you sir, I was expecting a web-like solution. Wait a minute, am I in the wrong forum ?
You want me to tune the control panel of every users? You funny man Rajug. Thanks for replying anyway.
Hey, you can see a different cursor in google docs. I want to steal the code but it’s a mess.
I’m pretty sure the OP meant the cursor (caret?) you get inside textareas when you’re typing text.
Apart from that, that huge arrow cursor is absolutely awesome
I’d like the cursor thicker and taller, about 2px wide, 18px high at default 12px font size.
How do you want to make it look like and why?
