Changing the green hexidecimal in “#body_side_wid ul li h3 {}” doesn’t work for you? Also, you may want to increase the width (or just remove the width) of “#header_nav”. In chrome the “Uses of solar energy” is breaking to the next line.
Also, to ensure a darker green background behind green text doesn’t result in an unreadably low contrast, test the colours in a Contrast Checker.
Well I don’t see why you can’t just put a darker color value in your CSS. If you don’t know it then you can search online for them.
Alternatively, if you use colorzilla for Firefox, and you happen to see a green color you like, you can easily find out with Colorzilla what # it is and apply it to your CSS
