Centering a background image in IE7

I’m sure this issue has arisen before, but have had no success in tracking down an answer.

How do I center a background image in Internet Explorer 7? You can view the page in the ie7 browser at: ChuprinaCreative and you will be redirected to the page reworked for this browser. Please note the background image and content is on the left side.

My css code is:

body {
background-color:#000;
}

#main {
background-image:url(../images/bkgrd3.jpg);
background-repeat:no-repeat;
background-position:center;
width:1240px;
height:1000px;
}

.title {
width:781px;
height:117px;
margin-left:145px;
padding-top:85px;
}

Totally baffled. Would really like to center it. Any help, guidance, code is greatly and thankfully accepted.

Hi,

I’m not really sure what I’m looking for here :slight_smile:

It seems to look ok in Ie7 so you may need to point out the problem more specifically to me as I may be looking in the wrong place.

Hi,

In ie7, on the page at http://test1chuprinastudios.com, the background image white paper image with background is not centered, it appears to be aligned to the left side. At least it appears that way on my windows xp virtual installation ie7.05… Could it be that because the virtual xp does not open in a full size window, and I was viewing it at 50% on ie 7 be the problem?

Thanks

This is what I’m seeing in IE7.
