Can't Get Contact Form To Work

I’m trying to include an email contact form on my client’s site.

I’m using the actual code that GetResponse itself provides, but it still won’t work…

Here’s what I’m trying to do:

I want to create a getresponse opt in form that looks like this: (I’m using imgur instead of embedding the image b/c I’m going to post this question on other sites as well)

Using code based on this:

This is the exact, modified code I’m using:

<form action=”” accept-charset=”utf-8”

<p>Name:</p> <input type=”text” name=”name”/><br/>
<p>Email:</p> <input type=”text” name=”email”/><br/>
<input type=”hidden” name=”campaign_token” value=”kILi“/><br/><br>
<input type="image" src="get instant access.png" alt="Submit">

You’ll note that my code differs from GetResponse’s in one crucial way:

I use: <input type=“image” src=“get instant access.png” alt=“Submit”>

Whereas they use: <input type=”submit” value=”Sign Up! (This is a placeholder for your Call To Action)”/>

The reason I use “input type=image” instead of "input type=”submit” is because this is a commercial project and my client wants a “fancy button.”

The form, even though I’ve duplicated GetResponse’s code almost exactly, doesn’t work (and yes I’ve tried just copying the exact code that doesn’t work either).

The Problems Are Twofold:

  1. The form looks like this:

The little “campaign token” appears as a form even though it’s just supposed to be invisible data used in authenticating the form.

  1. I get this error message:

The form evidently is not working.

Can anybody help me out with this?

Your code has “fancy curly quotes” around some attribute values.
If you change them to plain quotes does it work?

compare this with the previous

<form action="" accept-charset="utf-8"

<p>Name:</p> <input type="text" name="name"/><br/>
<p>Email:</p> <input type="text" name="email"/><br/>
<input type="hidden" name="campaign_token" value="kILi"/><br/><br>
<input type="image" src="get instant access.png" alt="Submit">

The error message is telling you that the script “” is not where you think it is.

I would verify that via ftp or whatever you use to access your webspace. If your form script is on the same site as your add_subscriber then you can use relative paths rather than the entire path btw.

Hope that helps

Not exactly, it says that this is not found
