Can anyone explain me about Link baiting and Trackback?

Hello,

Can anyone explain me about the concepts of link baiting and trackback? Are they same?

Linkbait is essentially a piece of content placed on a web page - whether it’s an article, blog post, picture, or any other section of cyberspace - that is designed for the specific intention of gathering links from as many different sources as possible.Link baiting is a technique of writing good quality contents and submitting it right sort of site in the right sort of field.

According to Wikipedia -A trackback is one of three types of linkback methods for Web authors to request notification when somebody links to one of their documents.

Actually many times it happen that you come to know about some post on which you want to discuss or talk about that post on your on blog then leaving comment on that particular post is not enough. If you want to mention that post in your own blog then you should go for trackback.Using trackback, you can automatically notify another blog about your new entry and a link to your entry will appear in that blog’s list of trackback pings. Now visitors to the other blog will be able to come to your blog. The main purpose of TrackBack is to let a site know that you are referencing them on your on site.

Trackback and Link baiting are entirely different.
Trackback is a simple concept that allows you to notify when other sites are linked to you and other sites know that you have linked to them.
Link Baiting is something which refers to have anything attractive in your website which turns the attention of your visitor to link back to your site.
