Can a href title show in a specified div?

I want to move mouse on <a href=“www.google.com” title=“google” onclick=“search.php” target=“_blank”>google</a>, but I do not want the title “google” be showed near the hyperlink. I want show it in a specified “div” layer.
the “a href” and “onclick” are occupied. :frowning:
Can any one have a good idea? Thanks.

Thanks for your help. This is what I need.

Excuse me, can you give me a simple example? thanks.

Why not attach the title to the div then instead of to the link.

There are 2 options that I am aware of.

  1. using only css, add a :hover pseudo selector for the <a> to display/hide another <div> as you hover on/hover off the <a>

  2. add onmouseover/onmouseout event handler functions to the <a> to display/hide the <div>

First of all you just do not put that title in <a> as felgall suggested. Just put it in a separate <div>title</title>. I am not sure about CSS thing but with JS, you can do something like this:

<a onmouseout="document.getElementById('title').style.display='none';" onmouseover="document.getElementById('title').style.display='block';" href="http://www.google.com" target="_blank">Over me</a>
<div id="title" style="display: none;">asfasdfasdfaf</div>

If you want to use some advanced JavaScript tool tips then you can google.
