I have just started with cakePHP and I found cakeplate (link below) I was wondering if there was anything else like this out there that I could use as a starting point for an application? My biggest issue I am having troubles with at the moment is group based permissions and access to different modules or sections. I have gone though a stack of tutorials but nothing seems to work as I hoped. A lot of the tutorials were for old versions of cakePHP which didn’t help.
Ideally I am looking for a package that includes this by default. Then basically I just need to build my specific modules etc. Maybe something like croogo with the modules taken out leaving the base login system and user accounts.
