Brand new to cpanel

Hi all, This is my first post and I am new to this webmaster thing, so I will try to keep my questions simple without over explaining. I want to start a website, I have bought some domains and I am hosting them at a different location than where I registered them. I have all the domains pointing to my host with a simple landing page set on the main domain all others are parked and point to the main domain. At this point I do not have a website there, just the landing page. Im waiting for the site to be installed. In cpanel I have reset the contact info, but was wondering if I should set up the email accounts for each domain or wait until the install is done before going any farther. And If I should set them up what would be best, say my first name at mydomain.com or a alias at mydomain.com. I want it to be proffesional. There are a total of 16 domains there, .com .co .info ect ect., so should I also do this for every one in the drop down menu. Is there anything else you would say I need to be doing until the site is installed. Thank you very much for your time and your teachings.

Hi Hagstrom. Welcome to SitePoint.

Will those domains always point to your one site? That is, are they just domains you’ve secured so that people can’t use a similar domain to yours?

If so—that is, if you are just putting up one main site—I’d say yes, set up the email addresses now. There’s no reason not to. What those addresses are is up to you. Often people will have a generic email, like office@mydomain.com, and then have a more personal one, like fred@mysite.com. But it’s up to you.

Thank you for your reply. At this time they will stay pointing at my site. Maybe sometime I will actually make an info page or have my site go mobi. I couldnt really say when but yes they might get dusted off and put to use. Or maybe not because im not at that point anyways. If it would benifit my site to use them in the future then yes I will. Your reply is clear and to the point thats great for a guy like me, Thank you for that. Kinda helps take the Im lost feeling away.

Great, glad that was useful. Yes, it’s hard enough learning web design without all these other issues. I find it difficult too. So don’t hesitate to ask here when you are not sure about something, as we’ve all been there.

Even if you have several different sites in time, you don’t necessarily need separate email addresses for all of them if they all relate to the same business. I would hesitate to have too many, as it can get a bit confusing and hard to manage them. I guess it depends, though. If you had sites at mysite.com and mysite.mobi, a customer might get confused if they contacted mysite.mobi and got a reply from mysite.com—but I doubt it, to be honest.

Thanks Ralph, I understand better now.
