Brackets, Extract or not to extract?

Just trying to get back into web development. i have found the Brackets Editor and it comes with with or without extracts.

1. do i need e extracts to begin with?
2. does it cause it to run slower? i’ll be working on an old laptop sometimes and want lightweight

Responsive Websites
a CMS, wordpress or something
Parallex website (the scrolling thing)

Is there anything else thats new and cool and needed that i should learn?

Are you creating your page mockups as PSD files? If not then you don’t need extracts and never will.

If you do use PSDs then extracts is supposed to speed up the process of extracting the information from the PSD to generate corresponding HTML and CSS.
