Blogs as Traffic Sources!

A Blog does drive traffic to your website and it also increases the number of visits to your site…Does that means you can also increase the conversion rates to your site sales wise???

Of course, Blog will drive more traffic to our site and automatically the conversion rate improves.

I wouldn’t say that because a site receives more traffic that the conversion rates would go up - it probably stay the same.

To increase conversion rates, your traffic sources would have to be heavily related to the item you wish users to convert on. If a blog post has something to do with “deep sea fishing” and it links to my site about “safari packages”, it’s not going to help conversions.

However, if a blog post is about “deep sea fishing” and my site’s page that visitors land on is selling “100 secrets every deep sea fisherman must know”, my conversion rates will definitely increase.

We can use blogs as a way to increase traffic to our blogs and for getting valuable links for our websites.

is it a good idea to publish blogs on free sites like blogspot or should i opt for own blog site? Is there any restrictions in commercialising blogs on free blog sites?

The conversion rate depends on how well targeted the traffic is. The number of conversions could go up because the volume of traffic goes up, but the rate still might go down because not much of that traffic is interested in buying.

Yes, blog can be used to help a main website rank better in search engines but traffic does not equate to sales. That is one thing that we should understand that website traffic does not equate to sales. It will surely help you get notice in the Internet and eventually convert these visitors to sales if they buy your product or service.

With unique content, updates, proper marketing a blog can work as a mirror for your website.
