I’ve moved a blogger account to a custom domain and set the blog up on the home page. The links to the other pages in my site don’t work anymore, and the main banner image isn’t showing up. Confusion - What am I not understanding? I thought the blog was going to point to my hosting site, but is the site now all hosted on blogger?
(I’m new to web design - just getting comfortable with html and css; don’t know php yet, or I would’ve used wordpress.)
Any enlightenment appreciated! TIA
Can you show the site? It was probably not transferred right, but you are not giving enough information for anyone to solve it for you.
I’ve taken the blog off the site and restored the home page. I’ll be looking at wordpress and typepad today to see if I can modify those templates. Not sure what to do with php.
The blogger blog transferred to the custom domain fine, but the links to the rest of the website (other interior pages, images) weren’t working. They would produce a blogger page that said the page you were looking for on the blog did not exist.
My hosting company said the files would all have to be uploaded to the blogging site. This is backwards of what I was trying to achieve. I was trying to follow the sitepoint book, Build Your Own Web Site The Right Way - in Ch. 9, they add a blogger blog to the index.html page, but the links to the rest of the site are still valid. It seems blogger has changed how this works - I wanted the blog to go to a custom domain, but it is more than a blog - it is a whole web site.
