Which is the most effective for SEO ?
Both are effective. But below are the things you must consider to make it more effective.
For Blog posting
-It must not be spun
-Not copied from other blogs or sites
-Original content
-Interesting article and topic
For Forum posting
-Don’t SPAM the community
-Answer questions properly if someone made a thread that asking. (vise versa)
-Don’t add links that looks like self promotion in all your post.
These are just my opinion about forum posting, so to know more about it you can check the FAQS of sitepoint forum here - http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/faq.php?faq=vb3_board_faq#faq_vb3_board_usage
WRONG!
Blog posting and forum posting are the worst of the worst. It shocks me how people can even logically think that these posts even work.
Just think logically. Google likes high-quality links, which we’ll define as a link on a page of high-quality. When you post on a blog or forum, you have the following problems:
-
The page that you have posted on is not of high-quality. The forum or blog home page itself may be a page of high-quality, and it might rank high for certain search terms, but it is one page out of countless hundreds/thousands. Even with a really strong home page it is very unlikely that Google will even care about your link
-
If you are lucky enough to get your link on that page, it will be followed by every other spammer. It’d be like sharing a drink between a hundred other people. Ultimately, you ain’t getting much!
Forum and blog posting is absolutely not effective, and speaking as an Adviser on this forum if we catch people doing it here they get warnings and their posts removed way before Google would even notice their link.
Why would that matter? This is only a tactic for not getting caught out for being a spammer, and as someone who has moderated and owned a few blogs I can safely say that we know if someone is posting just for a link.
Again, why would that matter? Being original is entirely different to being good, and in my many years on the web I’ve never found a bit of SEO pushed copyrighting that is any good. It’s a waste of time, and ultimately money for absolutely no benefit.
Again, if it’s purely for the benefit of SEO, it’s going to be pushed, and probably won’t be any good. Even if it is, it probably won’t even be found by anyone.
Posting any links for the benefit of getting back links is spamming, and those that do get warnings, and often they repeat enough to get banned.
Absolutely, but don’t rush it. We get a lot of people posting replies on this forum, and a lot of the time it’s so obvious that they are here to push signatures/links (despite them being nofollow). There are far too many one-liners from people struggling to pull together their knowledge of English by copying the answer directly above theirs.
Don’t put them in ANY of your posts, because you’ll get warned. Again, moderators/owners always know who is posting legitimately and who is there to gain from the links, and the people that try to push their links don’t last long.
Both are Good because both involves content . Remember the quality of the site matter. If you have link from Site-point forum it will be of great value then having a link from Pr 2-3 blog against an article. But its never easy to get link from forums. You have give some first… Its give and take.

Did you read ULTiMATE’s post? He’s already explained why you’re mistaken.
And links from Sitepoint forum will do no good at all. All external links on these forums are nofollow and will not pass PageRank.[/FONT]
