Hi,
I’d like to have my site higher in google ranking.
I have an idea of a blog regarding topic of my site where I could put links to my site (inside the blog).
What would be better for seo:

  1. Make a separate page on my site which would be a blog page?
  2. Make a blog on another domain (the same ip)?
  3. Make a blog on sub-domain of this site?

Adding blog in your site is relay a nice idea so that people will be updated by the new content on your site. Now lots of sites use this method. You should add a new page for blog in your site.

  1. Don’t make separate page in your site… if you created is going on marketing site… If you add this is doesn’t good look…

  2. why you want wast your money for blog in separated domain… Google provide the free blog…

  3. 3’ed one is best idea… if you put the sub domain for your blog you can easy to target sub domain URL in SEO… In direct URL we can’t give the quality result in short time… but sub domain compitator URL is very less so we can give the quality result easily…

All of them can help you. but i think having a blog on your sub-domain or a folder ofyour website is better.

Use blog at your subdomain willbe better. The people will get used to the main domain, so your domain will be more popular. You see that lot of big company use this way.

Adding a blog section is a good idea, you can update your site with fresh contents (blogs related to your site with key words). Search Engine Spiders love fresh contents. It is a good way of increasing your ranking. Article marketing is another effective way to increase website traffic. Post related articles in top article sites with your and company details in the author bio. You can get traffic from these sites where thousands of people visit everyday.

I agree with webhostGiant. Create a blog, and then blog about wild and exciting things that people in cyber space will love so much they’ll just have to link to it. :wink:

It’s all about good content at the end of the day. Create something you’re proud of.

If you want to push on your main domain name I think this option would be the best.

This method won’t bring you to a high ranking, it is useless.
To be in high ranking in Google it is a lot of hard work: choosigng the right keywords, write articles with these keywords, optimize your SEO and linkbuilding everywhere in dofollow social bookmarking sites, blogs, forums, articles directories, directories, rss feed, ect… not only in your own website.

well actually it can also help… any of those 3 can work… its just depends on how you gonna work on it…

I think the idea of having a sub-domain will be the best. Because making blog in another domain may give you the backlink for each post still they will not be created more that adding blog content to your own domain. All the content will be a part of your site that will make you content rich just like websites having forums in subdomains.

I guess your first option is correct. Create a different page in your website where you can update the contents. Please notice that It will be helpful if you put related contents (keyword rich) on a regular basis. As we all know that google like contents , putting new contents in the website will be beneficial. As google will also recognize your domain for new contents.
