Bigger bullet points

The standard bullet points with Dreamweaver 8 seem to be tiny! How can I increase their size? Do I have to do it manually in a stylesheet or from Dreamweaver?

Thanks,

Jon

Not sure

Although you could make ur own circle and then apply it to the list-style-image rule… for the <ul> or <li> tag

They aren’t “standard bullet points for Dreamweaver 8”, what Dreamweaver renders is irrelevant as you should be checking this in your browser. They should render relative to your font-size so you could try increasing that. However, if you want to increase the size of the bullet without increasing the text size the I’d go for JimmyPaddy’s suggestion and use an image.

Alternatively there are a number of other list-style-type’s you could use that may achieve the look you’re after.

OOO: look…i found a way.

Change the textsize and create a seperate <p> insisde each <li> and make sure you have margin set to zero for <p> so you dont get nay of the normal <p> spaces. FOr the <p> tag decrease the text size…

Wow –> i have explained it really badly: just use this:

<style type="text/css">
<!--
.list {
	font-size: 36px;
}
.list p {
	margin: 0px;
	font-size: 18px;
}
-->
</style>
</head>

<body>
<ul class="list">
  <li>
    <p>HELLO</p>
  </li>
  <li>HELLO AGAIN</li>
</ul>

I used an image. Thanks guys.

I’d also suggest using a background-image applied to the <li> instead of using list-style-image as you’ll get much more consistent results across browsers.

You can then adjust the indentation of this using the paddings and margins.
