I’m thinking about going with Nitro PDF Professional for $99 since Adobe costs way too much
Unless…someone knows of a better PDF program other than Nitro…if ya do, please let me know cause I need to pull the trigger on this deal shortly.

I’ve been using NitroPDF for a few years. I have been very pleased with it.
Not sure if this will work, but here is a coupon code to try to get $20 off as well.
Nitro PDF Software Coupon Codes - all coupons, discounts and promo codes for nitropdf.com
Thanks…unfortunately it looks like the Nitro site is set to charge $99.
I’ve checked their website several times and it appears that they’ve got this program working pretty good with numerous features so I may as well go with these guys.
Or, I could buy a checp retail box version of the Adobe off of eBay…where somebody scored the package using a stolen credit card…at least I think that’s how they are able to sell it so cheap.
Either way, that would be a roll of the dice…
Anywho, when I looked at the checkout to purchase, it had an extra $20 fee for “OCR Functionality”…anybody have any idea what that’s about?
.
I didn’t spring for the OCR package (Optical Character Recognition). I don’t scan many docs into editable PDF, so I passed on that.
So, that means if I scan a doc…this prog can recognize the text if I get OCR?
That’s be a kool feature…I guess…
And, if you buy a copy of this software, do they allow it to be loaded on up to 3 computers like alot of software companies allow?
If you just want to convert documents to PDF and not edit PDFs, take a look at CutePDF.
Yep. OCR recognizes the text characters. Not sure how good it is though. I think my scanner came with a similar program. Never tried it.
As for the number of computers, I think they only allow 1 computer per license. The software is activated so they are actually able to enforce it. You’ll have to read the fine print to be sure.
OK, I suppose reading the fine print is a good idea
I need to do more than simply print PDFs, I want to be able to use all the features as this is going to replace the prog I’ve been using for business purposes that comes from eFax.com
I’m now moving to Win 7 64 bit and the new eFax prog (handles TIFF images that I print to PDF when done altering as needed) does not have all the features that the older version does.
So, I need a replacement that allows me to alter docs as needed.
If you want free, I recommend foxit. Lighter than adobe.
Well, I don’t want free as that is just a reader only…I have to be able to combine pages into one PDF doc, and be able to edit PDF docs.
Looks like the version at Secure PDF Security
is the one I need to try out…thanks for the tip. I had never heard of these guys before…
