Best host for atlassian products

Guys,

I have been hosting our companies Atlassian product suite in house, and due to some resource requirements, it seems more appropriate to host it on someone else’s hardware.

however, Im not sure what host/package would be suitable for the task.

the requirements for the hosting are:

  • i can install my own OS and configure it as needed (in this case a barebones install of archlinux)
  • i can run a postgres DB from either my host, or a shared postgres DB
  • has to be affordable on a per month basis (not really more than $100 p/m)
  • not have CPU load restrictions in place as the atlassian suite can be a bit CPU intensive at times when doing massive reports or queries.

where do i begin? im thinking a VPS or shared would probably be the place to look?

Shared hosting means you get a user account on a server shared with hundreds of other people. That doesn’t meet any of your four requirements. You’ll need at least a VPS that lets you upload your own machine image to provide your own OS.

You are right. That startup solution which can be used for this is VPS.
