Basic info on moz and webkit

I don;t know much about this (the code is from the *less page ignore that)

It’s the webkit and moz stuff. I know it has something to do with browser engines, but can someone explain it to me in details, and if possible send me a good tutorial to show me how it is used?

Is is css3?

.rounded-corners (@Radius: 5px) {
border-radius: @Radius;
-webkit-border-radius: @Radius;
-moz-border-radius: @Radius;

Until CSS3 is officially launched, some browser vendors experiment with new features, and use “vendor prefixes” for testing. So, the proper CSS3 property is “border-radius”, but during testing, each browser has a prefix for testing it. In terms of border radius, the latest versions of most browsers support it without the prefix now, so that’s just for older browsers. It’s important to put the final version last in the order, though:

a {
  -webkit-border-radius: 5px;
  -moz-border-radius: 5px;
  border-radius: 5px;
