I have just done a backlink checker on my site and I got
Google 0
MSN 0
Yahoo! 789
What did/didn’t I do for it to get 0 on google??
Google only recognizes quality backlinks. If your links are coming from social media sites, link farms or any other (essentially) worthless places then they won’t count and they certainly won’t help your ranking.
They also don’t show full results for link: searches. If you create a Google Webmaster Tools account and verify ownership of the site, you’ll get a more full list of backlinks through that.
Also google takes an eternity to index them.
I get what you’re saying here but technically it’s not answering the question. Dan is right in saying that the google ‘link:’ operator only shows a random selection of the links that Google is aware of and the reason for that is that they don’t want to give away the links that they consider good quality links incase they give away too much info about how they judge that. Also, any link may or not help, it really depends on the context so you can’t really say that links from social media sites definitely won’t help because they might.
There could be any number of reasons why the link analysis showed 0 links for Google and MSN, but without being able to have a look at the site itself it’s really not possible to answer the question.
it is difficult to check google backlinks from backlinks checkers. you can use your webmastertools account.
One more thing I always use Yahoo to check links.
try to submit your site in quality site because google consider only quality backlink
