Backlinks from socialmonkee

Just got an “invite” to join SocialMonkee for the purpose of increasing the number of backlinks to my site. It sounds almost too good to be true, and in my experience, that usually means it isn’t true or there is a big catch.
Is it safe and useful to join SocialMonkee?

yes it is safe and Socialmonkee.com works very well, use it to get more backlinks to your main site, but also to your tier 1 links… (backlinks to your backlinks for more authority and higher index rates).

There is no catch, there is an offer for upgraded memberships that, that are even more powerful

What kind of invite? A spam (unsolicited) e-mail, or an invite from a friend who uses the service? If the latter, you can ask them about their experience; if the former, I’d be very cautious.

I’ve never used SocialMonkee, so I can’t speak from experience. Do you know how much control (if any) you will have over where and how these links are placed? Incoming links from relevant sites are beneficial; it’s doubtful if incoming links from non-relevant sites do much good. What link text are these people going to use? If it’s just a case of including your URL in a list of URLs on a web page, I doubt that will have any benefit. Including it in relevant text - “Looking for a plumber in London? Then try…” or something of that sort - is probably the most helpful. Will you be required to place links to other sites in exchange for this “free” service"?

I’d want to know a lot more about them before I signed up with them, and there seems to be very little information on their website.

Not quite sure where the invite came from, but it was not somebody I know personally. I know nothing about their T&C either, which is the reason why I asked here.

There was another thread on the subject recently, but it didn’t get many replies, which suggests not many folk round here are using it. I never respond to offers in unsolicited e-mails, but then I freely admit to being paranoid.

You could maybe try searching the net for reviews of the site.

i don’t think socialmonkee is effective anymore…google has become more smart with the time…as generally they include backlinks not from same niche…

Socialmonkee is one of the best free social bookmarking tools, simply because it allows you to submit URL’s fast. Also ideal for new webpage and websites that want indexed fast.

Since Penguin, the use of socialmonkey and the likes has been reduced to zero, and possibly even below that, as all of them are clearly recognisable as a link farm.

I have not done any testing on SocialMonkee lately but I did use it in the past for extra backlinks, now with all the Google updates I’m not sure if this is still an effective method for SEO.
But don’t go by me, you never know for sure unless you or someone else thoroughly tests the method and compares results.

On a side note, I have well over 100+ referrals to SocialMonkee and some of those referrals may still be using this platform
