Background graphic stretched to width/ height of div

I currently use this class to wrap elements inside a background image:

.image-container{
padding:10px;
display:inline;
overflow:hidden;
background-image:url(images/jagged-edge.png);
background-repeat:no-repeat;
background-size:100% 100%;
-webkit-background-size:100% 100%; /* Safari /
-khtml-background-size:100% 100%; /
Konqueror /
-moz-background-size:100% 100%; /
Firefox */
}

Can anyone please tell me how I can get this to work in IE 6/7? I’d just like the background image to stretch vertically and horizontally, when applied to a div.

Many thanks

IE6, 7 and 8 don’t recognize those CSS3 properties. There are some JavaScript fixes, if you really want them, but they add some load to your page.

Thanks for your reply.

Can you please tell me if there is another way I can achieve this effect?

Thanks

Disd you mean something like this.
