Automatically Login to MySQL database

Is it possible to log in to a MySQL database though a text link? I want to be able to pass a username and password so that clients can just enter without having to use their login credentials. For question sake, lets say I am using user for the username and pass for the password. I hope this makes sense and I think it would help a lot of people.

You can hard code the username and password in the connect statement if you want (and that’s how it is often done).

There does not need to be any connection between any username and password if any that are entered into a web page and the username and password used to connect to the database.

Could you show me an example of what you mean? What if I want to be able to login to a third party program with my username and password for an open source php program? Is that possible too?

No.
Text links works in the browser but browser never connects to database.
Client connects to your scripts. With their different passwords. And your script connects to database, with one password.
Hope it makes sense.

That’s different credentials. Site users never have mysql credentials. They have nothing to do with it

Nope, It won’t.
Because everyone distinguish mysql credentials and user credentials.
Everyone’s scripts already automatically logins to database. Because mysql login and password hardcoded in their scripts.

Could you show us an example of what you mean?
Explain please, what you actually want
