Authentication Required Pop-up

I do not know where else to go… this forum has been so helpful in the past I thought I would give this a shot here…

My issue is:

I am trying to access my cPanel through hostgator and I get a pop-up saying Authentication Required… if I fill in the user name and password it heads to the cPanel but it spams me with the Authentication Required pop-up over and over and over again…

I have google searched the issue… I have asked hostgator about it and no one can help… here is the strange part…

I have 2 computers in the house. My desktop and my laptop are both run off of a wireless router to the same internet… I only have this problem on my desktop. I can log into my cPanel just fine from my laptop…

Any Guesses?

My guess is that you have cookies turned off on the desktop, but not the laptop.

nope I actually checked that… they are accepted.

What is really strange is that I used to be able to access it from this computer.

well… I am a web developer and my java is on… (I had to check to see if I had it turned off for testing sake) still stumped…

javascript. make sure it’s on.

why oh why webdevelopers can’t bother to make it clear js is required (when it is) to non js people i do not know. they just let it fail repeatedly silently.

of course it could be something else but that’s my guess.

> I am a web developer

i was referring to web developers who are the makers of a system; the system should let non-js people know, which often isn’t the case… anyway, it wasn’t that. i don’t know then.
