pop up window that animates in and puts a black box over the rest of the window with a 60% opacity kind of affect, any ideas where I can find a tutorial to create this affect, cheers

yeah…Lightbox, Fancybox and a few other variants are widely used…even ported to plugins for use in a CMS like Wordpress. I don’t think I’ve ever come across an actual tutorial on how to create something like that since I’m not very knowledgable with Javascript and/or jQuery…and haven’t really looked. I did find a simpler alternative using mostly CSS that could possibly be built upon, though…
