As you know or heard some guys are trying to destroy the Internet with the ACTA treaty …i am thinking what alternative we can create ? so that no internet provider (ISP) ,state,corporation etc could not control that alternative and how can we can create this alternative?
I am thinking we need something that could work on radio waves ( with radio waves the signal is to low + we need a transmitter etc ,other legal problems … and also can we convert radio waves to binary code and back ?) or we can use a wireless solution with a small gadget witch you connect to your pc ,laptop etc with the help of a usb cable…
Once this device is connected to your pc,laptop… it will transform your pc in to a server / client in the same time to work as a p2p or hotspot but without the need to connect to the internet. It must be easy to build ,witch cheap parts etc so everybody can afford one… this way i think you will not pay internet subscription and many more benefits .Hope you get were i am going…
So what solution do you think you have for a alternative to the internet from a scientifically and technical point of you ? ( no stupid answers like google,books ,library… please,i am trying to gather ideas…)
Whatever you create, people will propose laws to restrict it. While I don’t like ACTA etc, it is worth remembering that their aim is/was to deal with people who are stealing. It’s not all one way.
I understand ACTA also ,i am a web designer also ,but it is not fair for them to monitor your computer or what you are doing politically online etc… If your government is not fair,corrupt or they install a dictatorship in your country how would you tell people about what is going on there…or lets say your in a pub and having some fun with your friends then you make a video and on the background you have some music and you upload it to a site like youtube, they could fine you or even arrest you …you think that’s fair? This ACTA treaty is not build to protect people and there rights it to control them.We need to make something that will send and receive binary code world wide … easy for people to make and with cheap parts that are already on the market ,so it will be easy for people to purchase the parts and build the device them self …
I think that there will be no alternative that will achieve any sort of real popularity. I think eventually the mainstream Internet will naturally become more decentralized, however.
