Affiliate marketing is the act of promotion (referral) of another business’s product or service.
Affiliate marketers will provide a medium over which to market the goods to their viewers and refer sales over to a business.
Affiliate marketers will usually setup a blog or website that caters to a specific niche. They will join Commission Junction, LinkShare, Clickbank, etc. and select products/services to promote that mesh well with the niche that they have built the website or blog for.
Each time someone visits the affiliate’s website and clicks on a link or banner that refers them to a business’s website and that person purchases the product or service, the affiliate marketer will gain a commission from that sale.
