Advice on hiring help for e-commerce script (Stripe)

I’m trying to implement an e-commerce script from Stripe.com, and the first block of code is a cinch, after which it’s totally confusing.

The folks at Stripe.com recommended I hire someone from matchist.com, upwork.com or peopleperhour.com. Matchist apparently has a minimum fee of $10,000(!!!), while the other two are totally flaky. I can’t get a response, can’t contact them, etc.

So can anyone recommend another source where I could hire someone to get a basic Stripe.com script working, and what would be a fair price?

Also, would it be possible to use PayPal as an alternative? In other words, do you know if PayPal has some sort of script that allows people to make credit card payments that simply go into your PayPal account?

Thanks.

I guess it’s too late to edit my post.

I just double-checked, and of course you can put money into a PayPal account with a credit card.

So my question is this: Why do people bother with complex e-commerce solutions when PayPal is so much simpler? Is there any significant advantage to having a more complex e-commerce system in addition to PayPal?

Some people don’t like using Paypal.

Also paypal isn’t world wide AFAIK.

Good point; I never thought about that.

it does cover more countries than Stripe does thoug.
